The house was built as an old Viennese middle class residence and has been privately owned by the Fischer/Wilhelm family since 1971. Towards the end of the nineteen eighties the house complex was completely renovated, to M-star status. An old house, lovingly restored to golden glory has become one of the landmarks of the l8th District in Vienna.
Situated on Jörgerstrasse we are just a mere 15 minute walk away from Ringstrasse or the University. With a subway stop in our direct vicinity we are favourably located as regards transports facilities.
Adequate facilities for conferences up to 100 participants are available, as is confernce equipement.
Travel information
The Hotel Thüringer Hof is centrally situated in Jörger Street, approximately 15 min walk from the Ring Street and University of Vienna, the architecturally interesting Votiv church, and within walking distance of an Underground station.
From airport "Wien-Schwechat" - Hotel Thüringer Hof: take the A4 (East Motor Way) towards Vienna. Follow the ''Zentrum'' (City Centre) sign. You get off the motorway into Schuttel Street, follow this road which eventually becomes ''Unteren'' (lower) and then ''Oberen (upper) -Donau'' Street. Keep left as you have to make a left turn at the fork over the bridge. Follow this road until you get the Votiv church on your right. Move over to the right as you will have to turn right at the next intersection after the church. Stay in the right hand lane as you will have to turn right after the "Sankt-Anna Kinder Spittal'' (Hospital). Keep left and turn left at the next road - go under the S-Bahn bridge and you will find Thuringer Hof on your right.
West motor way - Hotel Thüringer Hof: drive along this motorway until you have travelled through the subway to Schönbrunn Palace. Turn left and drive to the 2nd traffic light where you turn right into Maria Hilfer Street and continue until you reach the Westbahnhof (Railway Station) (Europaplatz). Turn left into the Gürtel (the outer ring) and continue straight until you see a big church on your right. Turn left at the 3rd traffic light after having passed the church (at the Underground - Alser Str.) there is also a Holland Flower Market - you are now in Jörger Street and you will see the Hotel in the first block on your right.
South motor way - Hotel Thüringer Hof: drive until you see the sign for Zentrum/Gürtel - there you leave the motorway - you will be in Triester Street. Drive along this road - keeping in the right until you see the sign for Prag (Prague) - follow the Prag signs on the Gürtel (outer ring). The Gürtel connects the Southern Motor Way with the Northern Motor Way. Keep going straight until you get to the Europaplatz and Westbahnhof (West Railway Station) - continue straight until you see a big church on your right. Turn left at the 3rd traffic light after having passed the church (at the Underground - Alser Str.) You will see the Holland Flower Market . You are now in Jörger Street and you will see the Hotel in the first block on your right.
Quick description
was built at the turn of the previous century in the style of an old Viennese middle class residence and has been privately owned since 1971. In 1985 the house complex was completely renovated to 4-star standard and in 1988 additional Junior-suites, an elegant and fully equipped conference hall, a leisurely lounge with reading room and an attractive bar, with panoramic view of the famous Stephans Cathedral, the Votive Church and the Town Hall, was added.
